I reported about the actual condition and our practice of Eco-DRR (Ecosystem-based Disaster Risk Reduction) in Japan at the 3rd UN conference on Disaster Risk Reduction in Sendai on the fifteenth of March, 2015.

The substance of the report:
Ecologically responsible management of land, water and resources is necessary to their sustainable use. Environmental design is one of the skills necessary to sustainable land and resource management. This skill can be developed via a comprehensive evaluation of local traditional techniques in light of modern science. I will report alternative proposals for disaster recovery thorough Eco-DRR drafted by citizen volunteers and researchers for two areas: Nishimoune District, and the Tsuya and Koizumi District in Kesennuma City, Miyagi Prefecture.
